San Diego County Air Pollution Control District
The San Diego County Air Pollution Control District is focused on protecting the public from the harmful effects of air pollution. The District’s programs and efforts are geared toward achieving and maintaining air quality standards, fostering community involvement, and developing and implementing cost-effective programs that meet state and federal mandates. Air quality is continuously monitored throughout the San Diego Air Basin, and programs are developed to bring about emission reductions. The District also issues permits to limit pollution, ensures that air pollution control laws are followed, and administers funds that are used to reduce regional mobile source emissions.
