Reviewing the fall edition of the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy newsletter gave us many reminders of why we are passionate in our STAND FOR LESS. Humans have a seemingly unquenchable appetite for natural resources, including land. The Conservancy is dedicated to preserving and restoring the natural character of the San Dieguito River Valley.
The fall newsletter features a series of vignettes from the Conservancy’s board. Board members discuss their favorite places in the San Dieguito River Park. Charty Bassett of Escondido describes Granite Gorge of Santa Ysabel Creek. She writes: “I love it for its peaceful seclusion, tucked away from casual visitors, and the majestic beauty of its waterfalls and those cold mountain waters pounding on the boulders.”
The newsletter describes many other wild areas in the river park that is the focus of the Conservancy. From Charty Bassett to John Muir, Californians have a long and deep understanding of the importance of preserving wild places and habitats. STAND FOR LESS salutes the Conservancy for its important work and we encourage you to get involved with this local organization.
